Creator's Notes: I'm horrible, I know. Weeks without a post. I get really busy with school, and sometimes I just don't have the energy or the inspiration left to write. I really wanted to get this basic outline done, so that you could actually understand what all of these stories are about. I have a lot of stories already written, so expect more posts after this. And please, tell your friends. :)
Also, thanks to what I call the Vista Word Kerfuffle of '08, I type most of this in Wordpad, which doesn't have spellcheck, so please understand any errors.
The Corriander Conspiracies: In a Nutshell
Corr investigates how he got into a nutshell, and suspects a conspiracy between the nut farmers, a sect of genetic experimenting doctors, and FBI.
Okay, but seriously.
Basically, a man with an intensely troubled past becomes an unorthadox private detective and builds his allies into his surrogate family as he takes down the mysterious forces that have twisted his entire life.
Before he was even born, Sam Corriander has been sought after and fought for. Mysterious and malicious forces have been after him and those around him, and he's at the center of countless conspiracies. He doesn't entirely know why he's in the middle of this web of treachery, but he does know that he has to put a stop to it. Knowing no other life, he does all he can to take down the groups that have twisted his world, and help others along the way. He becomes a private investigator, traveling where the work takes him, but based in his home town of St. Louis. Corr, as he is called by most, forms CAIS: the Corriander Alternative Investigations Service, for his unorthodox detective work. He's open, even eager, to naming dark government groups and paranormal forces as the culprits, truths of his life he's found that others don't accept so easily.
One man can't do all this work alone, so Corr hires assistants and picks up allies along the way. Police cooperation is necessary for someone in his line of work, and his contact is Henry Lawrence, current beat cop and former high school football star. He's generally an apathetic man, but he does want a safer world for him and wife, and he works with Corr to achieve this. Frankie Matthews is a jack of all trades with a knack for computers, and Corr hires him as a tech guy. He brings his teenaged neice Christie with him, as he takes care of her while her scientist parents are off working. Frankie takes care of everyone, really, oddly maternal for a single man. Christie herself is a straight-A student, pop culture geek, and extrodinairly talented young writer. Frankie's childhood best friends, Ben Finnegan and Marke Demchak, also get in on the investigative action. Strong but bashful Ben and the flashy, scrappy Marke are a gay couple, and are delighted by the exciting life that Corr leads. And finally, there's Leota Avery, a remarkably skilled and death-obsessed doctor. Corr starts going to her for medical consultation, and soon she becomes almost like a partner to him, and perhaps more.
Corr and his crew take on a variety of cases, but specialize in conspiracies, the government, and anything with a supernatural or bizarre side to it, thing that other detectives wouldn't dare be involved in. Corr doesn't have a lot of credibility to begin with, so he has little to lose. Everyone brings something different to the team: Corr's got the investigative knowledge and experience, Leota is the medic, Frankie is the tech guy, Ben runs transport and can fight, Marke is great at undercover work and disguises, Lawrence brings the skills and resources of a police officer, and Christie is highly intelligent and thoughtful.
I plan on making The Corriander Conspiracies a cult television show, with a run time of about six seasons. (Always know your timeline.) I'm going to try and balance the drama with some comedy, with a mix of mythology, character and relationship development, case-of-the-week, comedic, and experimental episodes. It's structured like The X-Files, but with a faster pace and more characters.
Details are still sketchy. More information to come. Feel free to ask questions.
